This international women´s day, do not look away, the women of Palestine do not have bread
(Amina´s speech given during 8th March Decolonized Feminist Rally)
As we are gathered here to celebrate international women´s day, Palestinian women do not even have a loaf of white bread in Gaza , nor a drop of drinkable water. In one school in Gaza where 6000 people are living, there are only 6 bathrooms and women are there giving birth without any access to health services or any type of accompaniment. And what about the women whose children are dying or the women that if their children do live, they are forced to write their surname on their children´s hands and then they have to let them go to try and survive with other families who can care for them.
Imagine with me for one moment what a mother feels when her child asks, why are you writing our names on our hands? Think about the thousands of children who die or are under forced starvation or the women and children who remain under the rubble, think of the thousands of children that have lost limbs, or the children that maybe are surviving physically but struggling mentally so deeply.
This is not the first time that Palestinian women are undergoing ethnic cleansing. 75 years ago they were forced to flee their homes and their land to live in camps inside and outside of their homeland. In the Nabka of 1948 530 villages were burned town, killing everyone and forcing the displacement of 750,000 Palestinian families.
We also can never forget today the over 8,000 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, a lot of these prisoners are women and children.
And now to speak about the daily suffering that makes daily life so difficult and impacts profoundly our material conditions. We need to think about the wall that separates the land that makes our life impossible, the apartheid that separates our families and our livelihoods. It is important also to talk about the settlements that surround our Palestinian villages , that take away our freedom even controlling the very water we drink from.
Palestinian women continue to worry day and night for their children who have to pass Israeli checkpoints, there are now more than 850, more than one million settlers and 180 settlements that divide up the West Bank. We are living under the worst type of apartheid.
A huge percentage of Palestinian women are widows, they are the only people sustaining their families economically while also raising their children.
We are here today to remember the more than 10,000 deaths of Palestinian women from the 7th of October in the Gaza strip and the 300 women detained in the Westbank.
After all our suffering day and night, 75 years of occupation and genocides, one after the other, the western countries decide to cut funding to UNRWA , an institution that exists to provide support to families and meeting the basic needs of over 5 million families living in refugee camps. The Israeli propaganda saying that 5 employees from UNRWA had participated in the 7th of October attacks and as a result western countries have cut their funding support to UNRWA. Forgetting completely that Israel has killed more than 16 employees of UNRWA in Gaza. Israel has destroyed 80% of housing, hospitals universities , all aspects of basic human life and now they are cutting all humanitarian aid , food , medicine, water , electricity to continue to displace Palestinians just as they did 75 years ago.
Palestinian women are for Israel a huge obstacle because they are the spirit of the resistance because of their courage and strength to continue struggling onwards. The Palestinian community will never die where there are Palestinian women, these women take Palestinian culture and local customs with them , all across the world while they continue to hold the keys of their settler occupied homes, despite all of the ethnic cleansing , the massacres, the genocide, Palestinians are the most educated people of the world.
And I am a woman that lived through the, 1987 Intifada and the 2000 war and witnessed everything the destruction and the massacres. I experienced displacement throughout my childhood but like thousands of Palestinians women and children I walked to the university, went through the hundreds of checkpoints to get there and I am here to share the message for all the Palestinian women we love life and the land of Palestine, and we deserve to live. Palestine is the mother of all beginnings and the mother of all ends.

Mientras celebran el Día Internacional de la Mujer, las mujeres palestinas no pueden conseguir una barra de pan blanco en Gaza ni una gota de agua potable. en una escuela donde hay solamente 6 baños viven más de 6 mil personas. las mujeres dan a luz sin ayuda médica, Las mujeres pierden a la mayoría de sus hijos a la vez Y si tiene suerte de sobrevivir, escribe los nombres de sus hijos en sus manos y los reparte con otras familias para no perderlos.
imaginados conmigo lo que siente una madre cuando Sus hijos le preguntan por qué escribe sus nombres en sus manos, miles de niños mueren o por hambre o por los ataques y miles de niños se quedan bajo los escombros, miles de niños se quedaron sin extremidades esos niños sobreviven físicamente pero no sobreviven psicológicamente.
Esta no es la primera vez que las mujeres palestinas han sido sometidas a limpieza étnica, ya que hace 75 años, se han visto obligadas por la fuerza a abandonar su hogar y su tierra y vivir en campamentos fuera de la patria y dentro de la patria. En el año de la Nakba en el año 48, después de quemar 530 aldeas palestinas y matar a todos los que vivían en ellas, 750.000 familias palestinas emigraron al extranjero.
This is not the first time that Palestinian women are being ethnically cleansed. 75 years ago they were forced to flee their homes and their land to live in camps inside and outside of their homeland. El sufrimiento diario que nos dificulta la vida cotidiana y económica, y que nos hace la vida imposible por causa del muro de separación, el muro del apartheid, que nos separa de nuestras familias y de nuestros trabajos. Sería importante mencionar también la existencia de los asentamientos ilegales que rodean las aldeas palestinas por todos lados, que nos quitan la libertad y nos controlan el agua que bebemos

Después de todo el sufrimiento que llevamos teniendo día y noche desde 75 años de ocupación y genocidio uno tras el otro . los países occidentales toman la decisión de cortar la ayuda a la UNRWA, una institución que existe para brindar apoyo a las familias con materiales básicos en los campamentos de refugiados y que beneficia a 5 millones de refugiados palestinos. La propaganda israelí afirma que hay 5 personas trabajando en la UNRWA han participado en el ataque del 7 de octubre, por lo cual los países occidentales toman la decisión de cortar todo tipo de ayuda . Olvidando que Israel ha asesinado a más de 160 empleados de la UNRWA y ha destruido casi todas las instalaciones de LA UNRWA en Gaza . Israel ha destruido casi el 80 % de las viviendas , hospitales, universidades, todos los aspectos básicos de la vida y insista en cortar todo tipo de ayuda humanitaria, alimentos, medicina y agua , electricidad al pueblo palestino para expulsarlos forzadamente como lo hizo hace 75 años.

Las mujeres palestinas para Israel son un gran obstáculo, porque son el espíritu de la resistencia, por su valentía y fuerza en seguir adelante, no morirá un pueblo en el que haya grandes mujeres que llevaron a todos los países del mundo la cultura y el folclore palestino y aún conservan las llaves de sus casas ocupadas por los colonos , el pueblo palestino a pesar de toda la limpieza étnica, la matanza y el genocidio, es uno de los pueblo más universitarios y profesionales del mundo.
Palestinian women are for Israel a huge obstacle because they are the spirit of the resistance because of their courage and strength to continue onwards , the Palestinian community will never die where there are Palestinian women, these women take Palestinian culture and local customs with them , all across the world while they continue to hold the keys of their settler occupied homes, despite all of the ethnic cleansing , the massacres, the genocide, Palestinians are the most educated people of the world.

Yo Soy la mujer que presenció la Intifada 87 y la guerra del 2000 y vio toda la destrucción, la matanza y el desplazamiento en mi infancia, pero como miles de mujeres palestinas, caminé a la escuela y a la universidad pasando por cientos de puesto de control y estoy aquí para presentar el mensaje de todas las mujeres palestinas de que amamos la vida y que en la tierra de Palestina merece la pena vivir, Palestina es la madre de los comienzos y la madre de los finales.
Mentre celebrem el Dia Internacional de la Dona, les dones palestines no poden aconseguir una barra de pa blanc a Gaza, ni una gota d’aigua potable. A una escola de Gaza on sols hi ha 6 banys viuen més de 6.000 persones, les dones donen a llum sense ajuda mèdica. A més a més, estan les dones que perden els seus fills de sobte o les que si tenen la sort de sobreviure, han d’escriure els noms dels seus fills a les seves mans i separar-se d’ells perquè altres famílies els cuidin.
Imagineu-vos amb mi el que sent una mare quan els seus fills li pregunten, per què escriu els seus noms a les mans? Penseu en els milers de nens moren de fam o pels atacs, els milers que es queden sota la runa. O els milers de nens que s’han quedat sense extremitats, aquests nens sobreviuen físicament, però el patiment psicològic es queda amb ells.
Aquesta no és la primera vegada que les dones palestines han sigut sotmeses a una neteja ètnica. Fa 75 anys, es van veure forçades a abandonar la seva llar i terra per viure en campaments fora i dins de la seva pàtria. L’any de la Nakba, l’any 1948, després de cremar 350 aldees i matar a tothom qui vivia allí, 750.000 famílies palestines van fugir a l’estranger.
Tampoc podem oblidar mai els més de 8.000 presoners palestins a les presons israelianes, molts d’ells són nens i dones.
El patiment diari que ens dificulta la vida quotidiana i que ens fa la vida impossible per causa del mur de la separació, el mur de l’apartheid. Ens separa de les nostres famílies i dels nostres treballs. Seria important mencionar també l’existència dels assentaments il·legals que envolten les aldees palestines per tot arreu, que ens prenen la llibertat fins i tot controlant l’aigua que bevem.
Les dones palestines continuen preocupades dia i nit pels seus fills havent de passar per centenars de punts de control israelians. Hi ha més de 850 punts de control de l’exèrcit, més d’un milió de colons i 180 assentaments que trossegen Cisjordània. Estem vivint sota el pitjor règim d’apartheid.
Un gran percentatge de les dones palestines són vídues, són l’únic suport econòmic de la família mentre tenen la responsabilitat de criar als fills soles.
Avui estem aquí per recordar la mort de més de 10.000 dones palestines des del 7 d’octubre a la Franja de Gaza, així com la detenció de 300 dones a Cisjordània.
Després de tot el patiment dia i nit, des de 75 anys d’ocupació i genocidi, un darrere l’altre, els països occidentals prenen la decisió de retallar l’ajuda a la UNRWA, una institució que existeix per donar suport a les famílies amb materials bàsics que beneficien a més de 5 milions de refugiats palestins. La propaganda israeliana afirma que hi ha 5 persones treballadores de la UNRWA han participat en l’atac del 7 d’octubre, per això els països occidentals prenen la decisió de tallar tota classe d’ajuda. Oblidant que Israel ha assassinat a més de 160 treballadors de la UNRWA i ha destruït quasi totes les instal·lacions de la UNRWA a Gaza. Israel ha destruït quasi el 80% dels habitatges, hospitals, universitats, tots els aspectes bàsics de la vida i ara estan tallant tota l’ajuda humanitària, aliments, medecina, aigua i electricitat al poble palestí, per expulsar-los a la força com ho va fer fa 75 anys.
Les dones palestines per Israel són un gran obstacle, perquè són l’esperit de la resistència, per la seva valentia i força per continuar endavant. No morirà un poble en què hi hagi grans dones que portaren la cultura i el folklore palestí arreu del món. Encara conserven les claus de les seves cases ocupades pels colons, el poble palestí malgrat tota la neteja ètnica, la matança i el genocidi, és un dels pobles amb més universitaris i professionals del món.
Jo sóc la dona que va presenciar la Intifada del 1987 i la guerra del 2000 i vaig veure tota la destrucció, matança i desplaçament durant la meva infantesa. Però com milers de dones palestines, vaig caminar a l’escola i a la universitat passant per cents de punts de control i estic aquí per compartir el missatge de totes les dones palestines que estimem la vida i la terra de Palestina, i mereixem viure. Palestina és la mare dels començaments i la mare dels finals.
